Although details are scant regarding Sugar Season 2, Apple hints that the second installment finds Sugar in Los Angeles, investigating a new missing persons case, and persistently pursuing clues about his lost sister.

In the second season of “Sugar,” Sam Catlin will take over as the lead producer, while Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg will work together with him in a supervising role. Additionally, Farrell, Scott Greenberg, and Chip Vucelich will all serve as executive producers for the show.

The initial season’s summary goes like this: “Sugar” offers a modern, fresh spin on a classic genre – the private detective tale, which has made waves in literature, cinema, and television. Starring Academy Award nominee Colin Farrell as John Sugar, an American private investigator, the story revolves around the enigma of Olivia Siegel, the cherished granddaughter of iconic Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel who’s gone missing. As Sugar delves into this mystery, he’ll uncover secrets within the Siegel family, some freshly unearthed while others have been buried for years.

In addition to Farrell, the first season of Sugar also starred Kirby (known for Sleepy Hollow), Amy Ryan (renowned from The Wire), James Cromwell (a regular in Succession), Anna Gunn (famous for Breaking Bad), Dennis Boutsikaris (recognized from Better Call Saul), Nate Corddry (well-known from Mindhunter), Sydney Chandler (seen in Don’t Worry Darling), and Alex Hernandez (noted in Invasion).

The show was developed and overseen by Mark Protosevich, with Adam Arkin sharing this role in a co-executive capacity.
