Six days after its release on August 15, 2024, the horror-comedy “Stree 2” starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao is still thriving at the box office, outperforming competition from movies like Akshay Kumar’s “Khel Khel Mein” and John Abraham’s “Vedaa.” By the end of its sixth day, “Stree 2” has firmly established itself as one of the year’s highest-grossing films.

In its sixth day after release, Amar Kaushik’s movie “Stree 2” has been doing remarkably well at the box office. The film managed to rake in around $2.9 million in India on its first weekday following the extended holiday break, which is a promising start. Early predictions suggest that it had an outstanding weekend performance as well.

The earnings at the box office for Stree 2 have been consistently shattering records since its release. On its premiere day, it grossed an impressive $6.1 million. This was followed by $3.7 million on the second day, $5.2 million on the third day, a significant jump to $6.6 million on the fourth day, and then $4.5 million on the fifth day. An additional $2.9 million was added to its total on the sixth day, bringing Shraddha Kapoor’s latest film’s domestic collections up to a whopping $30.3 million.

Moreover, as reported by Sacnilk, there was only a modest decrease of 35% in the film’s earnings compared to Monday. Interestingly, Tuesday’s income surpassed the initial day takings of other high-budget movies such as Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter and the Hindi version of Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD. On a global scale, it has now earned over $41.7 million, cementing its status as a powerful box office hit.

For those who might not know yet, the newest movie is actually a follow-up to the popular 2018 release Stree. In this second installment, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor revisit their characters from Stree. Furthermore, they are accompanied by a talented cast including Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. The story revolves around the character Vicky, played by Rao, and his group of friends who find themselves battling a fresh supernatural peril: a headless ghost referred to as Sarkata.
