Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos says there’s a “gigantic universe” to be explored with Stranger Things.
The last installment of the widely acclaimed Netflix show Stranger Things, titled Stranger Things Season 5, wrapped up filming towards the end of 2024. Currently, it’s undergoing post-production and is anticipated for release somewhere in the remainder of this year.
In his conversation, Sarandos expressed that the conclusion of Stranger Things would leave no one with a dry eye.
What did Netflix’s Ted Sarandos say about the Stranger Things universe?
When asked if the Stranger Things franchise might persist beyond Season 5, Ted Sarandos suggested that “Stranger Things has a vast, expansive world. You can see this in the character novels, the various merchandise, and the live stage show. The prequel Stranger Things: The First Shadow is currently running successfully on the West End and will soon open on Broadway.
Currently, there’s no official word from Netflix regarding a new Stranger Things series, be it a spin-off, sequel, or prequel.

An exact premiere date for Stranger Things Season 5 has not yet been announced by Netflix.
