As a devoted fan of the Duffer brothers’ work, I can hardly contain my excitement as they delve into their newest psychological horror series, “Something Bad Is Going To Happen.” The prospect of another chilling tale from these brilliant storytellers is enough to send shivers down my spine.
As Matt and Ross Duffer finish up the fifth and last season of Stranger Things on Netflix, they have already planned their next thrilling project. With their deal with Netflix, the Duffer brothers will produce a new horror series named “Something Bad Is Happening” in the psychological genre.
A New Nightmare on the Horizon
Haley Z. Boston, recognized for her contributions to Guillermo del Toro’s “Cabinet of Curiosities” and “Brand New Cherry Flavor,” is in charge of writing the script and serving as the showrunner for an upcoming series. She will additionally act as an executive producer, collaborating with the Duffer brothers and Hilary Leavitt through their production company, Upside Down Pictures. According to Netflix, the series tells the story of a couple’s turbulent week leading up to their unfortunate wedding.
The Duffers were hugely positive about the script:
We were knocked flat when we first read Haley’s script. She is a major new talent with a singular voice—her writing is twisted, terrifying, funny, and just… very Haley. We feel so lucky to be producing her first show, and we can’t wait to share her vision with the rest of the world.
Now we’re hyped.
More Projects From The Duffer Brothers To Follow
Instead of “Beyond the fact that something bad is in the works, the Duffer brothers are occupied with various other Netflix projects,” consider the following: The Duffer brothers have more than just a looming negative event to deal with; they’re also working on multiple Netflix productions. They plan to produce “The Boroughs,” which is slated to begin filming later in 2023, and a fresh live-action version of the acclaimed manga and anime series “Death Note.” We remain optimistic that this forthcoming adaptation will outshine its earlier live-action counterpart.
Looking forward to the upcoming release of “Something Bad Is Going To Happen,” the Duffers are keeping audiences hooked with the last season of “Stranger Things” and the Olivier Award-winning West End play “Stranger Things: The First Shadow.” In 2022, the Duffer brothers and Hilary Leavitt established Upside Down Pictures, making them major players in creating thrilling and suspenseful stories. Keep an eye out for more news as these intriguing projects develop further.
