Stone Island Remixes the New Balance Numeric 272

Summary

  • Stone Island Marina and New Balance Numeric have teamed up for a new take on the 272 sneaker
  • While the skate shoe has not yet been officially revealed, leaked imagery has surfaced
  • Release is likely to occur soon as collaboration teasers have been shared by Stone Island

As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been keeping tabs on the ongoing partnership between Stone Island and New Balance. These two powerhouses seem to be teaming up at least twice a year recently. This year alone, they released a “Raso Gommato” colorway for the 998 sneaker in March. Now, just a few months later, they’re back with another collaboration. This time, Stone Island’s nautical-inspired Marina diffusion line has joined forces with New Balance Numeric’s skate crew. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

In this latest version, Stone Island Marina has given a unique spin to their Numeric 272 model. Usually known for its budget-friendly skating shoes, this new design takes it up a notch with several distinctive changes. To begin with, the upper portion of the shoe is divided into two separate parts: a lower half made of gray suede and an upper section featuring white fabric. The side lateral midfoot sports a gray “N” logo, while the medial side skips this logo in favor of two breathable ventilation eyelets situated just above the off-white vulcanized sole. Stone Island Marina branding can be found on the textured tongue, and both brands are highlighted on the heel in blue.

Currently, neither Stone Island nor New Balance have revealed when their joint version of the Numeric 272 will be released. Stone Island hints that further details are on the way, suggesting that it could soon become available through Stone Island, New Balance, and selected retailers. Given the likelihood of a price tag significantly higher than the standard $75 USD, keep an eye out for updates, including a full sneaker preview, as we eagerly await more news from these two brands.
