Stellar Blade director kicks the horny nest, says steamy stuff’s fine, but modders adding fresh twists would be cooler

Modifiers of Stellar Blade have created numerous adult-themed content up to this point. Interestingly enough, the game’s director is supportive of these creations, yet he expresses hope that, despite the lack of official tools, modders will innovate and contribute unique elements that enhance the overall experience of playing Stellar Blade.

In a recent interview with the South Korean site “This Is Game,” translated by Automaton and Genki, Hyung-tae Kim shared his thoughts on the current state of game modding.

Initially, it’s worth noting that the director holds a favorable perspective towards Stellar Blade modding. He doesn’t feel the necessity to intervene in their activities, only advocating for caution or abstention from actions that could potentially disrupt the base game. This is exactly the kind of approach one would expect from a developer, fostering creativity without causing unnecessary alarm when someone discovers how to swap textures.

In addition, he’s comfortable with people creating large amounts of NSFW content such as stylish outfits for the game, given that Stellar Blade carries a mature rating and is intended for adult audiences. However, it might seem odd to some adults. To clarify, feel free to create whatever content you find appealing, just ensure it doesn’t cause any harm. The issue with Stellar Blade has been the presence of misogynistic players who use its portrayal of Eve and jiggle physics as a model for how women should appear in games, as evidenced by some Steam reviews.

In essence, the director appears to have reservations about expensive user-created modifications, yet he tends to place faith in players to avoid content that transgresses boundaries or includes potentially offensive or delicate matter.

To put it simply, Kim is eager for Stellar Blade modders to explore new possibilities. He understands that the absence of official tools might pose challenges, but he hopes to see modifications that offer fresh gameplay experiences while still staying true to the game’s core concept.

Genki’s translation indicates that Kim expressed his opinion using the phrase “Modders’ firepower is still limited”, implying that he feels the latest cosmetics and minor adjustments don’t offer much more than what the base game provides. It’s worth noting that this is often the case for games that haven’t been released on PC for a long period.

Let’s find out if SteamyBladers are up for this task. For now, let’s set aside their custom jiggle physics adjustments, open some fresh tabs to showcase their unique desktop sceneries, and dive into testing the boundaries of modding capabilities instead of good taste. Go for it, Stellar Blade modder…well, maybe not just yet. I’m a bit concerned about where that hand has been.
