New God of War leaks

Although there are currently no officially announced games related to the show, it’s plausible that we may be treated to a new God of War title due to the recent surge of leaked information.

As per Tom Henderson’s statement on X, the latest God of War game is reportedly not as expansive as initially believed, being described instead as a “2.5D/Metroidvania” style game. Jeff Grubb agreed with this assessment by simply saying “yep”.

Based on all the chatter I’ve been hearing, it appears that the 2.5D/Metroidvania game might not be as grand in scope as I originally imagined.

Beyond what’s already been mentioned, on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, it’s suggested that the game resembles a fusion of God of War and Blasphemous, and is supposedly set in Greece prior to Kratos achieving godhood. Additionally, there’s a rumor that its visual style surpasses Hades’, and another leak hints at the comeback of Deimos, with speculation that players may be able to control Deimos instead (or possibly alongside) Kratos. However, it remains unclear if this means Deimos will replace Kratos as the playable character.

I’ve been keeping it for three weeks, and Nick mentioned two weeks ago that it was tough. Hopefully, we’ll get to see the God of War-style Metroidvania game at the next PlayStation State of Play event.

Resident Evil 9 reveal

The prospect of another God of War game certainly sparks anticipation, but the potential unveiling of Resident Evil 9 might generate even more excitement! According to MP1st, RE9 is said to be revealed this week, leading many to speculate Summer Game Fest. However, Sony has announced their State of Play for June 2025, suggesting that RE9 could possibly be unveiled during Sony’s event instead, much like previous Resident Evil games such as RE8.

Beyond MP1st, the well-known tipster NateTheHate has confirmed that the reports about a reveal this week are indeed accurate. However, there’s a chance it might be unveiled at Summer Game Fest instead. Fingers crossed, though, it will take place during PlayStation’s event so we can catch a glimpse of the game right away.

The reports from yesterday are accurate.

It’s being speculated that Resident Evil 9 might feature Leon S. Kennedy once more as the primary character, this time in a third-person perspective instead of first-person. Previous reports also suggested Jill Valentine could be playable, but those claims seem to have been reconsidered or debunked.

How to watch State of Play June 2025 live

During June 2025, you’ll have the opportunity to catch Sony’s State of Play live, either on YouTube or Twitch. Since many of your preferred streamers might be broadcasting the event in real-time as well, you can enjoy it with their company!

If the rumors about God of War are true and Resident Evil 9 is unveiled, it promises to be an extraordinary event. Other games from Sony, like Wolverine by Insomniac and Intergalactic from Naughty Dog, might be in development, but it seems improbable that we’ll witness them soon. As for GTA 6, it may be best not to anticipate its arrival too eagerly.

Meanwhile, in the world of gaming, it’s been revealed that Hideo Kojima is currently engaged in the development of a new game following Death Stranding 2.
