Starz confirmed Outlander: Blood of My Blood is coming in 2025

As a dedicated Outlander fan with years of investment in this intriguing time-travel saga, I can’t contain my excitement upon hearing that we’ll finally get to meet Claire and Jamie’s parents in the upcoming prequel series, “Outlander: Blood of My Blood.” The release of these tantalizing images from Starz was like a breath of fresh air, offering a glimpse into the past.

In “Outlander: Blood of My Blood,” we were given a glimpse of Claire and Jamie’s parents for the first time. Alongside these visuals, Starz announced the expected release year for the upcoming prequel series.

As a long-time fan of Outlander, I was thrilled to receive Starz’s press release announcing that “Outlander: Blood of My Blood” will be premiering in 2025. However, my excitement was quickly tempered by the realization that we don’t have an exact date for its release. Given my busy schedule and deep involvement in the Outlander fandom, I was hoping to mark my calendar with a specific date. Instead, we’re only expecting it to come out sometime in 2025, which feels like a long way off for someone who has been eagerly waiting for new episodes. While I’m still grateful for the confirmation that the show will continue, I can’t help but feel a sense of disappointment and frustration at the lack of an exact release date.

Outlander: Blood of My Blood will likely arrive in fall 2025 at the earliest

Later in the year, I’ll be able to check out the new series. The production process began in January, and Starz announced that it’s still ongoing. Following the filming, there is a considerable amount of post-production work to complete. We anticipate wrapping up production by the end of this year. Given that post-production, particularly for period dramas with heavy graphics, takes approximately equal time as production, we don’t expect the show to air soon.

As a long-time fan of “Outlander,” I can understand why Starz would push back the release of Season 7B to Fall 2025. Having followed the show closely, I know that production for Season 8 has only recently started. Given this timeline, it makes perfect sense for Starz to space out the release of new “Outlander” content to keep fans engaged and satisfied.

As a long-time Outlander fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment as I accept that we won’t be seeing the eighth and final season until 2026. Having waited through the infamous “Droughtlander” periods between seasons in the past, I understand the frustration that comes with such a lengthy hiatus.

In this rendition, the storyline will unfold in two distinct timeframes, delving into interconnected love narratives. Previously, we’ve been introduced to Jamie’s family background to some extent; now we’ll uncover the complete tale. As for Claire’s backstory, only fragments have been shared thus far. It’s now time to explore her parents’ histories and understand who they were before welcoming Claire into their lives.
