As a seasoned Stardew Valley player who has spent countless hours tending to my virtual farm on PC, I was overjoyed to hear about the release of version 1.6 on consoles and mobile devices! The creator’s penchant for sneaking in surprises with every update is one of the reasons I keep coming back to this game.
Version 1.6 of Stardew Valley has now been rolled out on consoles and portable devices. The creators behind this popular farming simulation game, ConcernedApe, have a knack for incorporating hidden surprises and enhancements with each significant update. Just like previous iterations, Stardew Valley 1.6 offers something unexpected – a covertly included experimental multiplayer mode in the mobile version of the game!
In his recent update, developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone unveiled a secret multiplayer mode for Stardew Valley that’s now available with the version 1.6 release on mobile platforms. He mentioned this hidden feature in a post to the game’s official website, stating: “There’s a new, experimental multiplayer function embedded within the game.” As it’s currently under development, you can’t access it through traditional methods. However, ConcernedApe has provided guidelines on how to play cooperative Stardew Valley on mobile devices.
- On the title screen, you will notice that the “Stardew Valley” logo has four groups of leaves attached to it.
- Using the guide below, tap the leaves in this order: ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → … Then press the “?” button in the bottom right corner of the screen. (Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, ?)
- Exit the “?” menu. You should now have a co-op button on the title screen.
- In the co-op menu, you will have options to “Host” or “Join”. If you are joining, put in the IP address of the host. If you are hosting, you will have to set up the farm first, and then if there are cabins available, others should be able to connect to you (they will need your IP address). To find your IP address for hosting, do the following:
- For iOS: Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Click the (i) next to your Wi-Fi name -> Look for “IP Address”
- For Android: Settings -> Network & internet -> Internet -> Click the cog next to your Wi-Fi name -> Look for “IP address”
Stardew Valley’s multiplayer feature is currently accessible on both its PC and console editions, and the developer, ConcernedApe, aims to further enhance this aspect and make it compatible with mobile devices as well.
