Oscar Isaac and Tony Gilroy are working on a new movie together called Behemoth.
Previously, Isaac portrayed Poe Dameron in the Star Wars saga; this character was featured in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (released in 2015), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019).
Gilroy worked on 2016’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and created the Disney+ series Andor.
According to Jeff Sneider’s The InSneider, Gilroy is currently marketing a new screenplay called Behemoth, with Isaac set to appear in the leading role.
What do we know about the Behemoth movie with Oscar Isaac?
At present, specifics about the plot are kept secret. However, we know it’s a dramatic tale centered around a cello player. As for the production, it’s not clear which studios are being approached, but according to Sneider’s reports, there appears to be significant interest from several parties in this project.
Apart from Star Wars, Isaac has also acted in films like Robin Hood (2010), Drive (2011), Inside Llewyn Davis (2013), A Most Violent Year (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), Annihilation (2018), and Dune (2021). He lends his voice to Miguel O’Hara in Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff series, the Spider-Verse. Currently, he is set to voice Jesus Christ in Angel Studios’ upcoming production, The King of Kings, due for release in April.
Isaac is set to take on the role of Dr. Victor Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro’s upcoming Netflix film, where Jacob Elordi portrays the monster. Moreover, he has been cast in Julian Schabel’s In the Hand of Dante, but its release date is still undisclosed.
Simultaneously, Gilroy has been involved in writing screenplays for films such as Dolores Claiborne (1995), The Devil’s Advocate (1997), The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), The Bourne Ultimatum (2007), Michael Clayton (2007), and The Bourne Legacy (2012). Additionally, he served as a producer for Nightcrawler (2014), which featured Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role.
A release date for Behemoth has not yet been announced.
