Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic is still in development at Saber, promises COO

As a passionate gamer, I’ve been stirred up by Saber Interactive’s recent declaration about Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3. However, Tim Willits, the COO of Saber Interactive, has reassured us that other games they’ve previously announced, like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, are still under active development.

In recent times, the studio has revealed numerous upcoming games such as one inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender, Jurassic Park, Turok among others. However, as I write this, none of the announced Saber games have been released yet.

Knights of the Old Republic and more are still in development

In a tweet to their fans, Saber’s Creative Director Tim Willits assured everyone that no previously announced game projects have been canceled within the company.

As a passionate gamer, I’m excited to be part of the Saber Interactive team – one of the world’s leading independent game developers. We’re busy crafting a variety of titles spanning multiple genres. Keep in mind that everything discussed is still under development. When we’ve got some really awesome news to share, trust me, you’ll be among the first to know!

Excitedly, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake, a highly anticipated title from our studio, excluding the recently announced Space Marine 3. Since Saber took over development in 2022, there’s been a noticeable silence about this project, leaving me eager to learn more!

Despite ongoing work on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and numerous other projects, Saber Interactive hasn’t yet revealed a release date. However, fans can look forward to potential gameplay previews in the near future.

The upcoming game from Saber is titled John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, a cooperative first-person shooter (FPS) that draws inspiration from the iconic ’80s movie. Expected to launch later in this year, it’s Saber’s sole release planned for 2025. Meanwhile, popular titles like World War Z and Space Marine 2 will still receive ongoing support.
