As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that the gaming landscape is always evolving, and the recent departure of Adam Williams, the Lead Writer for Star Wars Eclipse at Quantic Dream, has certainly piqued my interest. Having immersed myself in Detroit: Become Human, a masterpiece by Williams, I can only imagine the innovative and special project he’s working on now.
Details regarding the upcoming game titled “Star Wars Eclipse” have been scarce ever since it was initially announced some years ago. Regrettably, the most recent announcement from Quantic Dream concerning their foray into a distant galaxy has reportedly resulted in the departure of the Star Wars Eclipse Lead Writer from the studio.
Why did Star Wars Eclipse Lead Writer leave Quantic Dream?
According to a post made by Adam Williams, the lead writer for Star Wars Eclipse, on LinkedIn, he has chosen to part ways with Quantic Dream.
In response to nearly a decade at Quantic Dream, Williams announces his departure to establish a fresh studio, accompanied by a team of exceptionally skilled designers and programmers. At this time, we’re unable to reveal much detail. However, we’ve been busy crafting something groundbreaking, extraordinary, and for now, shrouded in secrecy.
He finished his statement thanking Quantic Dream, as well as his team at his unannounced studio.
Williams was also the Lead Writer for the 2018 sci-fi action-adventure game Detroit: Become Human.
Back at The Game Awards 2021, I was thrilled to catch a glimpse of Star Wars Eclipse. Much like other masterpieces by Quantic Dream, this game promises an immersive storyline with multiple character arcs unfolding simultaneously. What sets it apart is its setting – the High Republic era!

This game promises a captivating array of compelling playable characters, each brimming with unique morality, personality, motivations, and they all influence each other and the broader narrative significantly.

Established in France back in 1997, Quantic Dream is a renowned video game development studio that has created five titles such as Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human. Not only does Quantic Dream develop games, but it also publishes them under its Spotlight label. Its upcoming published game, Dustborn, is set for release on August 20, 2024.
Star Wars Eclipse does not have a release date. Platforms for the game are also unknown.
