However, a recent disclosure by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida revealed some inside information, suggesting that Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priyanka Chopra will be part of the film’s cast.
In a recent update, it was revealed by the Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha that following the production of Pushpa 2, which was set in Malkangiri, the upcoming film SSMB29 from director S.S. Rajamouli is currently being filmed in Koraput. The post also confirmed the star-studded cast of this movie, including Mahesh Babu, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Priyanka Chopra.
The minister pointed out that the stunning landscapes of Odisha make it a perfect choice for movie production. Additionally, the minister suggested that this project would stimulate tourism within the state and inspire more filmmakers to discover Odisha.

Earlier, a scene from the film’s shoot in Odisha featuring Mahesh Babu became quite popular online. The leaked clip appeared to depict Prithviraj Sukumaran as a character confined to a wheelchair while Mahesh Babu was seen kneeling before him.
After the significant data leak, the creators strengthened their security measures and are said to have established a three-tier security system to avoid future leaks. Yet, with the Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha disclosing important news about the film, it is yet unclear how SS Rajamouli will handle this situation while dealing with other ongoing issues.
Currently, Priyanka Chopra herself announced via her social media platforms that she’s back in India. Although she didn’t specifically say it, fans are guessing that she might be returning to film sets for SSMB29 since that seems to be the most likely reason.
The movie, SSMB29, is being made as a pair of films, and it’s planned to release the first one in 2027, with the second coming out in 2029.
