At present, the buzz surrounding SSMB29, an upcoming Telugu production directed by SS Rajamouli, is hard to miss. This highly anticipated movie boasts a stellar ensemble cast featuring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Prithviraj Sukumaran. Although the creators are keeping details of the film under wraps, it appears that a well-known actor from Bollywood has recently turned down an important part in the production.
Nana Patekar refuses role in SSMB29
As per a report from News18, it appears that Bollywood actor Nana Patekar is being considered for the role of Mahesh Babu’s on-screen father in SSMB29. It’s said that director SS Rajamouli visited Patekar’s farmhouse in Pune last year to discuss and share the script with him personally.
However, the Welcome actor politely declined the offer, as he didn’t find the role enticing enough.
According to a reliable insider, it was disclosed that the filmmaker journeyed from Hyderabad to Patekar’s countryside estate in Pune to present the script. After a stimulating brainstorming session on creative concepts, Patekar expressed his reluctance, stating he wasn’t keen on the project.
Nana Patekar was offered a whopping Rs. 20 crore fee for role in SSMB29
Not only that, but it’s said that Nana Patekar was presented an attractive offer of approximately 200 million Indian rupees for his part in SSMB29, requiring him to film for merely around fifteen days.
Yet, the arrangement failed to come to fruition since it was made clear by Nana that he wasn’t prepared to assume the position at present. Nevertheless, he indicated an interest in working together with SS Rajamouli in the future.
