The intriguing finale of the anticipated Squid Game Season 2 has sparked numerous fan theories about Season 3, and Lee Byung-hun, who plays the enigmatic character known as the Front Man in the series, has recently spoken up about the top three popular ones. One such theory suggests that the character played by Lee Jung-jae, Seong Gi-hun, might be the son of Oh Il-nam. Byung-hun has now offered his thoughts on the speculations surrounding Season 3, adding fuel to the fire as we eagerly await more details about the next installment.
Lee Byung-hun on whether three Squid Game Season 3 theories are true
In a recent chat, the actor shared his thoughts on three significant speculations regarding Squid Game Season 3, accompanied by Lee Jung-jae.
In Hot Ones Versus on First We Feast, Lee Byung-Hun discussed various fan theories about the Netflix series “Squid Game”. These theories included speculations such as Gi-Hun being the son of Oh Il-nam, the Front Man posing as an undercover cop, and a possibility that the island in the show could be a moving ship.
In the Hot Ones Versus show, interviewees are given a choice: they can either provide the right answer to a question or eat the extremely spicy hot wings that are offered. When presented with three theories, Byung-hun responded honestly by saying, “None of them were accurate.
Initially, Byung-hun’s co-star retorted with a statement, which Jung-jae responded to by saying, “Then go ahead and eat.” This was followed by, “In essence, you did not answer the questions honestly,” implying that Byung-hun had evaded the fan queries. Lastly, Jung-jae hinted at his play about disclosing information on Squid Game Season 3 when he stated, “Does this mean I have to reveal the ending of Season 3 right now? If that’s what you want, I’ll do it instead.
I flipped the chat upside down when I said, “Alright guys, brace yourself for Season 3’s finale twist! Prepare for Front Man to reveal a game-changing secret to your character – he’ll drop his mask and declare, ‘I am your father,’ in a playful nod to Darth Vader’s famous Star Wars line.
Although Lee Byung-hun hasn’t definitively said whether there will be a Squid Game Season 3, his hesitation in answering could imply that one of the theories might actually be accurate. Fans will have to stay tuned for the upcoming season later this year to discover how Gi-Hun’s storyline unfolds in its final chapter.
