Earlier, he had built a powerful bond and friendship with Nam Gyu, who, like him, had gone through a similar ordeal related to the notorious Dalmatian cryptocurrency swindle. This fraud left both of them burdened with substantial debts, eventually pushing them towards participating in the Squid Game.

Given that Nam Gyu was close at hand when Thanos met his end, there’s a possibility he may have seized Thanos’s stash of drugs. In a tight spot during the game, he might use them to cope.
