It’s encouraging to learn that Square Enix is inspired by the success of Final Fantasy Tactics III and acknowledges the enduring popularity of turn-based games, even though they haven’t explicitly confirmed that the next Final Fantasy will be a turn-based game.
It’s expected that the next main Final Fantasy (FF) release will probably serve as the finale of the FF7 Remake trilogy, which might be out around 2027. Here’s to hoping that after this trilogy, Final Fantasy will once again embrace its classic turn-based style, as games like Persona and Clair Obscur Expedition 33 demonstrate that traditional turn-based gameplay can continue to appeal to a broad audience while fostering innovation.
Meanwhile, in gaming updates, the creators behind Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader commend Larian Studios for their exceptional work on Baldur’s Gate 3.
