As a dedicated fan of the gaming industry, I fondly remember the early days of Splitgate, affectionately referred to as “Halo with Portals.” The game showed great promise with its innovative blend of portal mechanics and classic shooter elements, attracting a solid player base that ranged between 30-70,000 players within the first three months. However, it was not without its challenges; technical issues with the game engine led to a steep decline in players, dropping down to as few as 300 daily.

However, following several technical problems with the game engine, the daily active users plummeted to a mere 300. Now, there’s renewed excitement for Splitgate as it’s been announced that a sequel is in development, bringing optimism for its future.

Title “Splitgate” showed great potential. Although the tagline “Halo meets Portals” may not fully capture it, the game seemed primed for success with its intriguing concept. Sadly, it didn’t leave open beta and the developers shifted their focus to a new project within the same universe instead.

As a longtime gamer with a deep appreciation for innovative multiplayer titles, I’m thrilled to my core by the news about Splitgate 2. Having grown up playing games developed by industry giants like Riot, Bungie, EA, and Activision, I can only imagine the level of expertise and creativity that will be poured into this upcoming project. The fact that these titans of gaming are coming together to work on Splitgate 2 is a testament to its immense potential.

Despite encountering technical challenges when Splitgate was first launched, the development team has shown remarkable responsiveness to player feedback. They have continued to provide updates and additional features for free, such as battle-passes, among other things. The team has also been transparent about acknowledging their initial mistakes with Splitgate’s release. All of these efforts have piqued my interest in the upcoming release of Splitgate 2.
