As a long-time fan of the Splinter Cell video games and Liev Schreiber’s gripping portrayal of Sam Fisher, I couldn’t help but feel a rush of excitement when I watched the teaser trailer for Splinter Cell: Deathwatch. The dark, moody atmosphere and Schreiber’s ominous voice-over had me hooked from the start.

What happens in the Splinter Cell: Deathwatch trailer?
In the trailer for The Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, we see Sam Fisher’s high-tech goggles submerged beneath a deep body of water. Simultaneously, Fisher himself is shown sinking, as floral arrangements adorn the coffin of a man named Douglas Shetland.
As I navigate through this digital realm, let me assure you, there’s no need to fear the pitch-black corners. Embrace the dimness, it’s a guide. Soon enough, you’ll spot the sneaky ones in the crowd, exposed for who they truly are. And trust me, they won’t even sense your approach as you outsmart them.
At the moment, more information about the storyline isn’t ready to be shared. As for the cast, apart from Schreiber, we haven’t made any further announcements yet.
The series is jointly directed by Guillaume Dousse and Félicien Colmet-Daage. Derek Kolstad, who has previously written for John Wick films like 2014’s John Wick, 2017’s John Wick: Chapter 2, 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum, and 2021’s Nobody, as well as the upcoming Nobody sequel Nobody 2 (due for release in August 2025), acts as both head writer and executive producer. Kolstad was also a writer and co-executive producer on Marvel Studios’ The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Alongside Ubisoft Film & Television, Helene Juguet, Hugo Revon, and Gerard Guillemot hold the role of executive producers. The animation for this project is created by Sun Creature and Frost studios.
In addition to his role in The Perfect Couple on Netflix, Schreiber has made a name for himself by taking on leading roles, such as in Ray Donovan on Showtime. His film credits stretch back to Scream in 1996, followed by The Sum of All Fears in 2002, X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018, and Asteroid City in 2023, with many other films to his name as well.
Splinter Cell: Deathwatch does not yet have a release date.
