Spider-Noir Update: Marvel Star Hints at Black and White Release for Amazon Show

Lukas Haas has given an exciting update on the forthcoming Spider-Noir series.

An upcoming show on Amazon MGM Studios titled “Spider-Noir” features Nicolas Cage as the main character, the superhero Spider-Man. Alongside him in this live-action series are actors such as Lamorne Morris, Brendan Gleeson, Haas, and others.

What did Lukas Haas say about Spider-Noir?

In a private conversation with ComingSoon, Haas suggested the possibility of releasing Spider-Noir both in monochrome (black and white) and full color.

He commented that the project was truly exceptional, with everyone contributing in a remarkable manner. Brendan Gleason portrayed his boss, and the opportunity to delve into the noir genre was particularly captivating. The production maintained an authentic film noir aesthetic, featuring the distinctive long shadows during filming.

As a gamer, I can share my thoughts on the filming experience: “When capturing this production, it seemed like it would be in both color and black & white, yet during filming, all monitors displayed only shades of gray. This gave an incredibly authentic vibe that felt like peeking at old 1930s black and white footage. Amazingly, the filters and post-production effects made it seem as if I was actually watching genuine vintage film from the ’30s! Nic’s writing is brilliant, adding to this exciting project, and I eagerly await its final outcome.

In addition to our main characters in Spider-Noir, we also have Li Jun Li, Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, Karen Rodriguez, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, and Andrew Robinson joining the team.

The release date for Spider-Noir hasn’t been set yet, but we do know that it will initially air on MGM+ within the U.S., and later move to Amazon Prime Video at a subsequent time.
