Spider-Noir: Lamorne Morris Talks ‘Bucket List’ Role

As a longtime comic book enthusiast and avid gamer, I can’t contain my excitement for Lamorne Morris‘ upcoming role in “Spider-Noir.” This project feels like a dream come true for him, and as someone who grew up on comics and animation, I totally get it.

Lamorne Morris has been cast in the forthcoming “Spider-Noir” series, which he’s particularly excited about as it’s a dream role for him to be part of.

In an interview with Deadline, Morris expressed his eagerness for his upcoming project and the opportunity to collaborate with acting legend Nicolas Cage. This was something he had long desired, viewing it as a coveted experience akin to checking an item off his bucket list. He described it as the chance to portray a character in a non-realistic setting, working alongside seasoned veterans who could both teach him valuable lessons and provide a unique learning experience while acting.

If you’ve spent your childhood immersed in comics and animation, you’ll naturally yearn to be involved in that realm. This blend of comic books and live-action brings those worlds together, making it an irresistible desire for me. With Nick Cage and Brendan Gleeson on board, being a part of this team is undeniably a dream come true.

Morris isn’t the only new face joining Spider-Noir’s cast! Nic Cage, who brought Spider-Man to life in “Spider-Verse” animation, is reprising his role. Plus, we have Brendan Gleeson and Li Jun Li on board, rounding out an impressive ensemble.

Who is in Spider-Noir?

The premiere date for Spider-Noir is still unknown, but the show will initially be released on MGM+. Later on, it will become available on Amazon Prime Video. Nic Cage has recently disclosed that there will be a total of eight episodes in this series.

In simple terms, Spider-Noir is a story about a retired superhero named Cage, living in 1930s New York who’s struggling financially. He’s compelled to confront his past as the city’s lone hero and deal with the repercussions. (Deadline’s description paraphrased)

As an avid fan, I’m thrilled to share that Oren Uziel and Steve Lightfoot are the brilliant co-showrunners behind Spider-Noir. Harry Bradbeer is not only directing but also executive producing the first two episodes of this eight-episode series. Furthermore, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal are all lending their expertise as executive producers.
