According to a recent report on box office performance, Deadline mentions the current status of Spider-Verse’s sequel, Beyond the Spider-Verse. Notably, Sony Pictures is putting a great deal of effort and care into this project. They have announced that the third installment will not be released in 2025.
The news emerges amidst numerous speculations about the project’s progression. Earlier in the year, Jeff Sneider from The Insider reported that the film was on the verge of cancellation and required a restart, causing potential delays. However, Christopher Miller, who is both a writer and producer, dismissed these rumors. Subsequent reports hinted that Beyond the Spider-Verse was not as close to completion as one might think.
More recently, actor Jharrel Jerome, known for a brief role in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse as Miles G. Morales, stated that he hadn’t started working on the movie at all yet and didn’t have any solid details about its release date.

Currently, I’m eagerly anticipating everything about Beyond the Spider-Verse, as I recently watched its prequel, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, which hit screens earlier this year. This remarkable film was skillfully directed by Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson.
It features the voices of Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy, Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker, Issa Rae as Spider-Woman, Daniel Kaluuya as Spider-Punk, Karan Soni as Spider-Man India, Oscar Isaac as Spider-Man 2099, Jason Schwartzman as The Spot, Brian Tyree Henry as Jefferson Davis, Luna Lauren Velez as Rio Morales, Greta Lee as Lyla, Andy Samberg as Scarlet Spider, and more.
