Liza Colón-Zayas, from the Bear’s team, is now part of the cast for the upcoming Spider-Man movie, which is often referred to as Spider-Man 4 or simply Spider-Man: Fresh Start.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t wait to experience the thrill of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the upcoming Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures production! In this exciting chapter, Tom Holland will once more slip into the web-slinging shoes of Peter Parker. Mark your calendars for July 2026, when we’ll get to witness the action unfold on the big screen!
By the set deadline, Colón-Zayas has been added to the Spider-Man 4 cast, but her character details have yet to be revealed.
As a proud actress, I’ve made quite the mark in the entertainment world, with my most notable role being Tina Marrero in The Bear, which snagged me a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series back in 2024. Before that, you might have recognized me from shows like Law & Order, Titans, and David Makes Man. When it comes to films, I’ve graced the silver screen in movies such as United 93 (2006), Righteous Kill (2008), The Purge: Election Year (2016), Collateral Beauty (2016), Cat Person (2023), and IF (2024). Quite a journey, isn’t it?
What else do we know about Spider-Man 4?
In a fresh turn of events, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now under the leadership of director Destin Daniel Cretton. Notably, he has prior experience with Marvel Cinematic Universe, as he was in charge of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which premiered in 2021. Interestingly, at one point, Cretton was slated to direct the fourth Avengers movie, initially titled Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. However, he relinquished this role in November 2023.
As reported by Deadline, it’s anticipated that Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will reprise their roles as MJ and Ned in Spider-Man: A Fresh Start. Additionally, Sadie Sink from Stranger Things has been chosen for a role yet to be disclosed. At the moment, specific plot details for the film are still kept secret.
The upcoming film is being co-produced by Sony’s Amy Pascal and Marvel’s Kevin Feige, with production set to start towards the end of this year.
In U.S. theaters, Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to hit screens on July 31, 2026. This places it between two upcoming Avengers films: Avengers: Doomsday (on May 1, 2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (on May 7, 2027).
