Spectre Divide to go offline, Mountaintop Studios shutting down

Mountaintop Studios recently declared that they are closing the tactical shooter game, Spectre Divide, barely six months following its release and less than a month after its console debut. This week, Mountaintop Studios will cease operations permanently.

Nate Mitchell, CEO of Mountaintop Studios, shared a message on social media today to confirm the closure of Spectre Divide and the studio itself. He explained that, over time, there haven’t been enough active players or sufficient income generated from the game to cover its operational expenses as well as those of the studio. In early 2024, Mountaintop Studios announced it had secured $30 million in funding from a prestigious group featuring content creators such as Shroud, Tarik, and Cohh Carnage.

According to Mitchell’s statement, Spectre Divide is anticipated to shut down permanently within the upcoming 30 days. Recently, this game was released on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in February, timed with the debut of Season 1.
