As a dedicated fan who has followed “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” since its inception, I was dismayed to learn that the show won’t be returning for its third season this fall as previously announced. Having witnessed the grueling challenges and intense competition on the series, I can attest to its unique appeal and how it stands out from other reality TV shows.
As a dedicated gamer and avid viewer, I’m thrilled about FOX’s exciting lineup this fall! Kicking things off will be an NFL doubleheader on Sunday, Sept. 8. And just when you think it can’t get any better, the series premiere of “Universal Basic Guys” is right around the corner. However, if you’re hooked on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test,” I have some disappointing news – you’ll need to be patient and wait for its return.
The celebrity social experiment on the network was initially planned to start its third season on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET, following new episodes of “Hell’s Kitchen” in 2024. Yet, with the release of premiere dates, it appears that the show won’t be coming back during that year. Fox has officially stated that it will be held for a midseason debut instead.
As a fan, I can speculate that no explanation was provided for the change in programming, but it seems plausible that the network aims to match our favorite cooking show with a stronger lead-in program to attract more viewers. While Gordon Ramsay challenges contestants on his show through rigorous culinary tests, it’s essential to remember that this isn’t an endurance or survivalist series; it’s all about cooking and the art of creating delicious dishes.
The reality TV shows Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test put contestants through a grueling experience, mimicking the demanding selection procedures for real-life Special Forces. Although it can be harshly described as hellish, these shows may not attract the same audience as each other due to their specific focus.
For this reason, it is logical that “Crime Scene Kitchen” season 3 takes over as the successor and will debut together with “Hell’s Kitchen” season 23 on Thursdays, starting September 26. According to FOX’s lineup during midseason, “Extracted,” a new survivalist competition series from FOX, is the strongest contender to be broadcast in conjunction with the military-style endurance show in 2025.
The program, which isn’t well-understood yet, has been described as revolutionary based on its innovative concept. In contrast, contestants in competition shows have some control over their actions and decisions, but they aren’t in charge of the challenges or unexpected circumstances that may arise. However, for “Extracted,” it’s claimed that their fate is taken out of their hands – we’re still trying to figure out what that entails.
