Speak No Evil Trailer Shows a Holiday From Hell in Horror Movie Remake

As a seasoned gamer and horror movie enthusiast, I can’t help but get excited about the newest trailer for Speak No Evil. The suspense is palpable, and James McAvoy’s portrayal of Paddy is absolutely chilling.

Another trailer for the upcoming psychological horror film “Speak No Evil,” featuring James McAvoy and Mackenzie Davis in the main roles, has been released as a second preview.

The latest preview adds to the sense of mystery as it follows a pair who travel to the countryside residence of another couple they befriended on vacation.

As a movie buff with years of experience under my belt, I strongly advise you to watch the trailer for the new Speak No Evil with caution. While it undeniably offers an intriguing sneak peek into this upcoming film, I’ve learned from past experiences that sometimes, knowing too much beforehand can take away from the magic of the unfolding storyline. If you’re someone who enjoys being surprised and fully immersed in a movie, it might be best to hold off on watching the trailer until after you’ve seen the film itself. Trust me; the suspense and excitement will be worth it!

In the latest trailer, there’s a strong emphasis on James McAvoy’s portrayal of Paddy. It appears that he is enjoying himself immensely while bringing this unstable character to life once more.

Based on what director James Watkins shared, the remake of “The Disappointments Room” by Blumhouse will keep the storyline identical to the original Danish film by Christian Tafdrup. However, it won’t contain the same level of graphic scenes.

When an American family receives an invitation from a delightful British family they met on holiday to spend a weekend at their picturesque countryside estate, what initially seems like a perfect getaway gradually transforms into a complex psychological horror.

As a big fan, I’d describe it this way: I’m thrilled to share that Speak No Evil is a captivating film brought to life by the brilliant direction of James Watkins, who previously impressed us with Eden Lake and Black Mirror. The impressive cast includes James McAvoy from Split, Mackenzie Davis from Terminator: Dark Fate, Aisling Franciosi from Stopmotion, Scoot McNairy from Gone Girl, Alix West Lefler from The Good Nurse, and newcomer Dan Hough. This cinematic masterpiece is an adaptation of the original screenplay, promising a thought-provoking and engaging experience for all viewers.

Jason Blum and Paul Ritchie serve as the film’s producers, while Beatriz Sequeira, Jacob Jarek, and Christian Tafdrup hold executive producer roles.

In 2022, the initial Danish film amassed 11 nominations for Danish Film Awards, which serve as the Danish counterpart to the Oscars. Currently, you can watch it streaming on Shudder.

Speak No Evil will be released in theaters on September 13, 2024.
