Space Marine 2 devs promise “new and exciting” PvP content including custom games, new maps and more

As a die-hard Warhammer 40K fan who has been following the Space Marine series since its inception, I must say that Saber Interactive’s latest announcement has me absolutely thrilled! Having spent countless hours battling through hordes of enemies in the original game, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia mixed with anticipation for what’s to come.

The new PvP content announced for 2025 is particularly exciting, as it promises to bring fresh challenges and strategies that will test even the most seasoned Space Marine veterans like myself. The close-quarters map and customizable lobbies are features I’ve been longing for, and the addition of a prestige rank system is the cherry on top.

However, what really stands out to me is Saber Interactive’s commitment to addressing the concerns of PvP players who felt left behind in the past. It’s a testament to their dedication to the community that they’re taking the time to listen and respond to feedback, ensuring that all aspects of the game are given equal attention.

In true Space Marine fashion, I can’t help but end this on a humorous note: I just hope they add a “friendly fire” option in the custom lobbies, so we can really see who the real Space Marines are!

As a dedicated gamer, I’m excited to share that Saber Interactive is still hard at work on Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. Recently, they unveiled a fresh Operation within the game, hinting that there are more PvE Operations in the pipeline for future updates. However, it seems some PvP players feel a tad neglected in this journey.

Space Marine 2 new PvP content

In their recent update to fans, Saber announced that they will introduce fresh Player versus Player (PvP) content for the Warhammer game in 2025. The creators elaborated that alongside this, Space Marine 2 will also feature ongoing PvP updates, as well as anticipated Player versus Environment (PvE) missions with new modes, maps, and enhancements.

In his statement, Saber acknowledged the concerns of PVP players, stating that they’ve been noticed and understood. He promised to support them in an exceptional way starting from 2025, with fresh and thrilling content tailored specifically for PvP gameplay.

By the year 2025, Player versus Player (PvP) combatants can engage in intense battles on a compact map designed to keep players alert when rounding corners. This map, modeled after an ancient temple, boasts numerous tight corridors, perfect for close-quarter skirmishes. The use of shotguns and melee combat is emphasized within this layout.

In addition to the fresh map, Saber is also incorporating personalized Player versus Player (PvP) rooms for users in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, reminiscent of custom Halo games. This feature enables players to adjust team configurations, facilitating modes like snipers-only or even more varied setups. For an enhanced experience, they kindly ask for the addition of a gravity modifier in these rooms.

In addition to the fresh Player versus Player options, Saber has affirmed that Space Marine 2’s Season 3 will introduce a Prestige Rank system for players to achieve. Once a player reaches the highest rank, they can still progress further, much like in Call of Duty.

On September 9, we proudly released Space Marine 2, which turned out to be a triumph! Over the years, our team has poured heart and soul into this project, making it an embodiment of passion and commitment. Seeing the incredible reception from players was the most gratifying moment, and serves as the ultimate validation for all those tireless years spent perfecting the game. The overwhelming enthusiasm from the community fuels us to continue delivering quality work and ensuring that we meet and exceed player expectations.
