Space Marine 2 devs promise “much more content” is coming as “no one is abandoning the game” for Space Marine 3

The developers, Saber Interactive, and publishers, Focus Home Interactive, have confirmed that they will keep working on the sequel of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine for multiple years.

After the unveiling of Space Marine 3, touted as an “even more impressive” sequel, the development teams assured fans that they remain committed to the original game, emphasizing that they have no intention of leaving it behind due to the release of the third installment.

Space Marine 2 will be supported for years

In the recent announcements about Space Marine 2’s version 7.0 update, Saber clarified any misconceptions for its fans.

The studio clarified that the release of Space Marine 3 doesn’t signal the halt in the progress of Space Marine 2. Quite the contrary, they emphasized. No teams are transferring, no one is deserting the game, and they continue to work on delivering exciting new content for Space Marine 2.

The team is planning to roll out “even greater content and surprises in the upcoming months,” including a new class, additional missions, melee weapons, and more. The studio playfully hints that data miners might not have discovered all of their hidden secrets just yet, so we should stay alert and attentive.

The team stated that this announcement signifies the beginning of a fresh undertaking, not expected for several years. They’ve chosen to proceed and are now embarking on the initial stages of the project.

It’s anticipated that Saber is planning to significantly expand the scope of Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 3, which means its creation will likely require considerable time. Additionally, ongoing development for Space Marine 2’s Operations, new adversaries, PvP content, and additional features such as a distinctive Horde Mode are all in the works, promising a wealth of exciting additions.
