As a longtime fan of JYP Entertainment, I am thrilled to share my excitement about the upcoming 30th debut anniversary celebration this September. Having grown up listening to some of the label’s iconic artists like g.o.d and Wonder Girls, it’s truly amazing to see them still creating music and contributing to the K-pop scene. The announcement that TWICE will be part of the special ceremony only adds fuel to my anticipation. With their energetic performances and infectious tunes, they have become one of my favorite groups in recent years. On September 16, the renowned South Korean K-pop group g.o.d will take the stage for JYP’s 30th anniversary program, airing on KBS2TV. This special event, titled “KBS Grand Project—30th Anniversary Special ‘Entertainer JYP’,” begins at 8:30 p.m. Korean Standard Time (7:30 a.m. Eastern Time) and concludes at 11 p.m. KST.

On August 30, 2024, at 7 p.m. Korean Standard Time (KST), 6 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), and 11 a.m. British Summer Time (BST), KBS will host g.o.d’s special performance. Furthermore, the network hinted that additional artists will be announced for the program at a later date.

In the early days of K-pop, g.o.d was one of the pioneering groups that helped establish the genre both at home and abroad. This boy band made their debut in 1999, consisting of five members: Park Joon-Hyung, Yoon Kye-Sang, Danny Ahn, Son Ho-Young, and Kim Tae-Woo.

In the days before digital music domination, the South Korean group g.o.d achieved immense fame by selling millions of albums within just a week of their release. Their records were so successful that many of their songs are considered timeless classics in the world of K-pop.

For nearly two decades, this band has maintained a connection with JYP Entertainment. After their deal with music agency SidusHQ ended, they moved to JYP Entertainment in the year 2004. Notably, Park Jin Young, the founder of JYP, is responsible for penning some of their most memorable songs such as “Love and Remember,” “Sorrow,” “Lies,” “One Candle,” and “Road.”
