As a seasoned gamer with years of MMORPG experience under my belt, I was absolutely thrilled to witness the Soulframe Devstream at TennoCon 2024. The anticipation in the air was palpable as we gathered around our screens, eagerly waiting for Digital Extremes to unveil more about their upcoming MMORPG, Soulframe.
At TennoCon 2024’s inaugural event, Digital Extremes unveiled the initial Soulframe Developer Stream. The team showcased an actual gameplay demo of their upcoming MMORPG, offering fans a new perspective on the title’s narrative and mechanics.
As an Envoy in Soulframe, your role is to heal the Ode affliction that has befallen Alca, the land. This backstory was partially revealed in the Warsongs Prologue, a prelude that offers insight into the Soulframe universe and was presented during the Devstream. The prologue introduced new landscapes and characters, along with a hint of the impact player decisions can have in Soulframe.
“Geoff Crookes, Creative Director at Soulframe, shared that the closed testing with our community has been incredibly informative. We’ve gained a great deal of insights and remain open to learning more every day. This fall, we plan to expand this opportunity to a larger group of players. Although there are still rough patches, this is in line with our authentic style. Constructive feedback is valuable to us and plays a significant role in our frequent improvements.”
During the live demonstration, Verminia the Rat Witch was introduced among the novel characters. Players have the opportunity to meet her and modify their appearance or create concoctions such as potions and elixirs. Additionally, a battle scene featuring Nimrod, one of numerous Soulframe bosses, was displayed. This imposing figure wields the ability to summon lightning strikes against opponents. According to Digital Extremes, players will come across Nimrod on various occasions during their adventure.
Digital Extremes announced that they will allow more players into the Soulframe Prelude testing phase before the game’s release, inviting feedback from interested individuals.
