In a supplementary information section, they highlighted the number of PlayStation 5 consoles sold during this period. The tech giant reported selling approximately 2.4 million PlayStation 5 units, representing a 27% decrease compared to Q1 2023, where Sony managed to sell 3.3 million PS5 consoles.
Each year, the number of PlayStation 5 units sold by Sony has gradually increased. In FY2023 alone, they managed to sell 20.8 million units, compared to the 19.1 million sold in the previous year. It’s intriguing to observe if this upward trend will persist, given the drop in sales experienced during the first quarter of the current period.
