Following the disappointing debut of Concord last year, Sony is revising its upcoming game lineup. As a result, they’ve decided to cancel two unreleased games that were being developed by their in-house studios.
The projects being terminated were in progress at Bend Studios and Bluepoint Games. These games were live-service type, with Bluepoint rumored to be working on a God of War game, according to Bloomberg. A Sony representative informed the outlet that neither studio is set for closure due to these cancellations; however, it remains undecided whether there will be any job cuts.
Previously, Bend Studio was responsible for creating the 2019 game Days Gone. Bluepoint Games, on the other hand, developed the remake of Demon’s Souls in 2020, which served as a launch title for the PS5 console. Before embarking on a live-service project, it appears that the studio lent a helping hand in the development of God of War Ragnarok.
