As a devoted fan who grew up with the Pritchett-Tucker-Delgado clan, I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear that Sofía Vergara is open to revisiting the hilarious world of Modern Family! The show was a staple in my household, providing laughter, tears, and relatable moments that made it feel like an extension of our own family.
Sofia Vergara is willing to rejoin the “Modern Family” universe, and she’s even floated the idea of a potential TV film in the future.
In a recent interview with Variety, Vergara expressed her desire to revisit the famous sitcom once more. She even proposed the idea of creating a TV movie as a potential format for the revival.
“I’d die to be on that set,” Vergara said. “It’d be so much fun. A TV movie, maybe?”
Vergara pointed out that it’s premature to revive the series, but added a joke about repeatedly reminding Ed O’Neill, who co-starred with her in the show, not to pass away before they can arrange a reunion.
Vergara stated, “I often tease Ed by saying, ‘Ed, stay alive! If we’re to make a sequel, it would require some time, and as the eldest among us, you simply can’t pass away.'”
What was Modern Family about?
“Modern Family started in 2009 and aired for nine years, producing 250 episodes before wrapping up in 2020. This popular show focused on three families living in suburban Los Angeles who were connected through their common patriarch, Jay Pritchett (portrayed by Ed O’Neill). Throughout its broadcast, it garnered a whopping 22 Emmy Awards.”
In addition to O’Neill and Vergara, the cast of Modern Family also included Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Nolan Gould, Rico Rodriguez, Jeremy Maguire, and Reid Ewing.
