As a devoted fan, I’m sharing some exciting changes unfolding at SNK Corporation, the masterminds behind Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Kenji Matsubara, our revered CEO, has decided to step down from his position and transition into an advisory role within the company. In the interim, the Chairman of the Board will take on the role of interim CEO as we search for a fitting successor to lead the way.
This week, the SNK Corporation disclosed information about their CEO succession plan in a press statement published on their official website. In this announcement, they provide all the necessary details regarding the transition process.
Recently, SNK Corporation launched Fatal Fury: City of Wolves in April, and it garnered positive reviews from critics, including us at Shacknews. However, sales figures from Famitsu in Japan and SteamDB’s data on the game’s PC player count suggest that the game hasn’t been a commercial success or received much attention since its launch. Despite SNK’s statement not directly linking the release of Fatal Fury to the leadership transition, it’s challenging to ignore potential connections between the two events.
Regardless, the shift happens promptly, as SNK embarks on a search for their next CEO. Keep an eye out for more news regarding SNK.
