Hi-Rez Studios has formally declared that the game, known as Smite 2, is moving from its paid alpha stage to open beta, which commences on January 14.
Making this move signifies a notable achievement, as it opens up the opportunity for a wider range of people to enjoy the game without financial obstacles.
After all, the alpha was only available to those who bought the expensive Founder’s Edition.
On January 14th, you can dive into the Battlefield of the Gods without paying a penny – that’s right, SMITE 2 becomes free-to-play!

In “Smite 2”, you engage in gameplay that follows the standard Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) format, featuring grand divine conflicts among five players on each team, akin to “League of Legends” or “Dota”. However, unlike these games where you view the action from above, this one offers a third-person perspective.
Pick from a remarkable variety of 45 deities you can play as, using their unique abilities to strategize and outwit your adversaries in epic conflicts.
Major Content Update
In tandem with the beta debut, an extensive content overhaul featuring fresh deities and playstyles will be unveiled, significantly enhancing the enjoyment of the game, Smite 2.
Among the highlights are the modes Joust and Duel:
- Joust: This mode takes players to a single-lane map designed for intense 3v3 team battles, emphasizing tight teamwork and strategy.
- Duel: Catering to those who prefer one-on-one combat, Duel offers a more personal and skill-focused experience on smaller, more confined maps.
New Gods And Unique Abilities
The update introduces five fresh deities into the game as well. It’s worth mentioning that Aladdin comes armed with a remarkably versatile set of tools.
His abilities include summoning a genie that grants three powerful wishes:
Instant revival, bonus gold, or resetting cooldowns
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m thrilled about the shift to a free-to-play model for the upcoming game, Smite 2. This means I can dive into the action on my PS5, Xbox Series X, or PC, broadening the reach and making it easier than ever for gamers like me to join the fray!
Man, I can hardly contain my excitement! It’s like a dream come true – SMITE 2 is in the works! This game is going to be off the charts, with over 400 viewers tuning in today alone and a player base pushing 3000? Incredible! I can barely wait to jump into the fray!
