Skinamarink Director Kyle Edward Ball Teams With A24, New Horror Movie Gets Title

As a gamer with a penchant for horror movies that push boundaries and challenge my sanity, I am thrilled to hear about Kyle Edward Ball‘s new project titled “The Land of Nod”. The man behind Skinamarink, a movie that left me scratching my head and second-guessing my own perceptions, is back with another mind-bending horror tale.

Film director Kyle Edward Ball, known for the controversial experimental horror movie Skinamarink, is teaming up with production company A24 on a new horror production.

Just like Skinamarink, Ball is set to oversee both the direction and scriptwriting for an upcoming horror project, which A24 plans to distribute worldwide. Further details regarding Ball’s new venture remain under wraps for now.

What is Kyle Edward Ball’s new horror movie titled?

This project is titled “The Land of Nod“. It’s being developed by Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush, and Josh Safdie under their fresh production label Central Pictures. Other producers on board include Lawrence Inglee, Daniel Noah, and Elijah Wood from SpectreVision, as well as Tatiana Bears and Bruno Vernaschi Berman. Theo Vieljeux is overseeing the project in an executive producer role.

Skinamarink is one of A24’s numerous horror films, which also include Heretic, Y2K, and Altar. This independent studio has made a name for itself by producing horror movies such as Under the Skin, The Witch, Green Room, The Killing of a Sacred Deer, It Comes at Night, Hereditary, Midsommar, The Lighthouse, Saint Maud, Talk to Me, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Beau Is Afraid, I Saw the TV Glow, and Ti West’s X trilogy.

As a dedicated admirer, I’d like to share that Ball, in his first directorial role, introduced us to the intriguing world of Skinamarink. This low-budget masterpiece unfolds the tale of two kids who awaken in the dead of night to find their father mysteriously absent and all exit points – doors and windows – inexplicably gone from their home.

Brandon Schreur, a critic from ComingSoon, placed the horror film “Skinamarink” on his list of top movies in 2023. It was ranked slightly lower than films like “Killers of the Flower Moon,” “Asteroid City,” and “How to Blow Up a Pipeline.” Schreur characterized “Skinamarink” as a film that might be polarizing, with its visual approach not appealing to everyone.

In the dead of night, two kids suddenly discover that their dad is nowhere to be found, and they notice that every window and door in their house has mysteriously disappeared.
