As a die-hard fan of Tamil cinema, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the release of Sivakarthikeyan’s upcoming film, Amaran. The prospect of seeing him share screen space with Kamal Haasan, one of the most revered figures in Indian cinema, is nothing short of exhilarating.
Actor Sivakarthikeyan will return to the silver screen in 2024, specifically on October 31st, with the movie titled “Amaran.” As this production is a collaboration between Sivakarthikeyan and veteran actor Kamal Haasan, there has been recent interest in their professional relationship over time.
During an interview with India Today Digital, Remo’s star mentioned that several years ago, he had the honor of hosting the launch of Ashwin Shekhar, son of S Ve Sekhar. At this event, he introduced Kamal Haasan in a voice similar to Rajinikanth. Upon hearing his introduction, Kamal Haasan commented that it seemed as though I had rushed from Hyderabad for the occasion, but it appears that Sivakarthikeyan is more than capable of handling everything on his own.
The actor shared details about his ongoing conversations with Kamal Haasan during an awards show in the past. He continued by saying, “After Amaran started, I resumed our interactions more frequently. Admittedly, I was apprehensive around him and concerned that he might ask me something about film-making, and I wouldn’t have the answers. As a result, I tended to keep quiet in his presence.
Sivakarthikeyan shared that Kamal Haasan commended him for producing Kottukkaali at his young age. He also mentioned that he was anxious when Haasan watched the original, non-dubbed version of Amaran. However, the esteemed actor praised it as good and stated that the team had done a fine job; ultimately, the success lies with the audience’s response.
In the future, the movie titled “Amaran” featuring Sivakarthikeyan as the main character, is a biographical film that offers an insight into the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan. This film is adapted from the book “India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military,” co-authored by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh.
The story takes us through the life of the martyred soldier who dedicated his life to the nation in a counter-terrorism operation. Aside from SK in the lead role, the movie also features Sai Pallavi as his wife Indhu Rebecca Varghese.
