As a seasoned gamer and animation enthusiast with a soft spot for fantastical stories, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming release of “Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds“! Having grown up watching a variety of animated films from different parts of the world, I’ve developed an appreciation for the unique artistic styles and storytelling techniques that set each one apart.
The trailer and US launch date for “Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds,” the French psychedelic animated fantasy movie by GKIDS, have been announced officially. Following a year since its triumphant debut at the 2023 Annecy International Film Festival, where it first premiered and received the Audience Award.
The film “Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds” will have a limited two-night theatrical run starting on August 11, featuring a fresh English dubbed version. On the following day, August 12, audiences can watch the original French language edition with English subtitles.

What is Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds about?
In an exciting turn of events, the synopsis goes, adventurous siblings Juliette and Carmen stumble upon a magical toy one day. Instantly transported, they find themselves in the breathtaking Kingdom of the Winds. Transformed into cats, they explore this new realm filled with flying performers, vibrant dragons, and other mind-boggling wonders. However, their adventure takes a turn when Juliette accidentally causes trouble, leading the Mayor to punish her by giving her to the captivating Selma, and sentencing Carmen to marry his son. Determined to return home, the sisters must uncover the secret of escaping, which lies with Sirocco, the enigmatic wizard infamous for his destructive storms.
Benoît Chieux, in collaboration with Alain Gagnol, helmed the production of “Sirocco and the Kingdom of Winds.” The English dubbed adaptation will showcase the vocal talents of Briauna James (as Agnès), Tallula Dinsmore (as Carmen), Élia St-Pierre (as Juliette), Lucinda Davis (as Selma), Terrence Scammell (as Sirocco), Marcel Jeannin (as The Mayor), Wyatt Bowen (as The Mayor’s Son), and Bruce Dinsmore (as The Toy).
