As a fan who has followed Ryan Coogler’s impressive journey since his debut with Fruitvale Station, I am absolutely thrilled to see him delving into the gothic supernatural genre with Sinners! The fact that Michael B. Jordan will be portraying dual roles in this film just adds another layer of excitement to an already intriguing storyline.

What else do we know about Ryan Coogler’s Sinners movie?

In addition to Jordan, Lindo, and others, the ensemble of Sinners also features Jack O’Connell, Jayme Lawson, Wunmi Mosaku, Omar Benson Miller, Hailee Steinfeld, Li Jun Li, Lola Kirke, and several other talented individuals.

In a bid to escape their turbulent pasts, identical twins (Jordan) come home to begin anew, unaware that a more sinister force is eagerly anticipating their return, as suggested in the plot summary of the film.

As a dedicated fan, I had the pleasure of witnessing Ryan Coogler step into the director’s chair for the first time in 2013 with his feature film debut. The poignant biographical drama, titled “Fruitvale Station,” showcased Michael B. Jordan portraying Oscar Grant III, a man whose life was cut tragically short by a Bay Area Rapid Transit police officer in 2009.

Following Fruitvale Station, I teamed up again with Jordan on several more projects. My next film, released in 2015, was Creed where Jordan brought to life Adonis ‘Donnie’ Creed, the son of Apollo Creed as portrayed by Carl Weathers.

Afterward, Jordan took on the character Erik Killmonger in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther Marvel Cinematic Universe film, released in 2018. Coogler also helmed the 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where Jordan reappeared briefly as Killmonger. He’s set to appear in the upcoming Marvel Studios animated series, Eyes of Wakanda.

Coogler additionally executive produced the sequel to Creed, 2018’s Creed II. He was a producer and has a story credit on the third film in the franchise, Creed III, which was directed by Jordan.

Additionally, Coogler is not only responsible for scripting and helming the movie but also serves as a producer through Proximity Media, alongside collaborators Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. Ludwig Göransson, an Academy Award-winning musician, takes on the role of executive producer, with Rebecca Cho and Will Greenfield joining him in this capacity.

Sinners will be released in United States theaters on March 7, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures.
