Sinners Box Office Might Outperform WB Predictions After Strong Start

The film “Sinners,” directed by Ryan Coogler with Michael B. Jordan in the lead role, is doing remarkably well at the movie theaters, and there’s a good chance it could outperform Warner Brothers’ initial expectations.

The horror film about vampires, initially screened in cinemas on April 18th, garnered favorable initial responses – some describing it as both “erotic” and “gruesome”. Not only has it been well-received by critics, but this R-rated production is also raking in substantial earnings at the box office.

What was the box office total for Sinners so far?

Based on reports from Variety, the newly unveiled horror movie brought in $4.7 million during its Thursday previews. The publication also predicts that the film could earn anywhere from $45 million to $50 million over its opening weekend. Warner Bros., on the other hand, anticipates that the movie might amass at least $35 million to $40 million. Given the current earnings, there’s a possibility that it may surpass these expectations.

In the film “Sinners,” by Coogler, Jordan plays twin brothers Smoke and Stack Moore. These characters, originally from Mississippi, make a return to their hometown with aspirations of beginning anew. However, unbeknownst to them, a sinister force lies in wait for their return, ready to disrupt their plans of leaving their past behind.

After attempting to escape their turbulent pasts, identical twins (Jordan) decide to go back to their old home as a fresh start, unaware that a more sinister force is eagerly anticipating their return,” the movie’s summary goes.

Hailee Steinfeld plays Mary in the film “Sinners,” with Jack O’Connell portraying Remmick, Miles Caton as Sammie Moore, Buddy Guy taking on the role of Old Sammie, Jayme Lawson as Pearline, Wunmi Mosaku as Annie, Delroy Lindo as Delta Slim, Omar Benson Miller as Cornbread, Li Jun Li as Grace Chow, and several others.

In their most recent project, Coogler and Jordan team up again, a duo who have previously collaborated on the two Black Panther movies, as well as Fruitvale Station and the Creed movie franchise.
