The thought of seeing my beloved characters from Sing, especially Buster Moon and his crew, bring this iconic song to life is simply thrilling.
Netflix has formally revealed a fresh, new short movie titled “Sing: Thriller” within the realm of the animated Sing universe, inspired by the legendary song “Thriller” by Michael Jackson.
When is the Sing: Thriller release date?
Announcement: The Netflix premiere of “Sing: Thriller” is scheduled for October 16, 2024. This production will see the Sing cast performing a rendition of “Thriller” at the New Moon Theatre. Following the show’s conclusion, the crew finds themselves at a Halloween party where the guests have been mysteriously transformed into dance-loving oddities.
In Chris Meledandri’s statement as founder and CEO of Illumination, he notes that only a small number of songs have left such a significant cultural footprint as ‘Thriller.’ This iconic track, with its catchy rhythm, memorable dance steps, and lasting beat, continues to captivate people from various generations. Our upcoming short film, starring the cherished characters from Sing, is designed to enthrall both long-time fans and newcomers by offering a fresh, entertaining take on this classic. It’s essentially a timeless tribute to music, imagination, and happiness enjoyed by people worldwide.

In the Movie: Thriller, it’s Garth Jennings who pens the script and takes the director’s chair. Chris Meledandri from Illumination is responsible for production. Matthew McConaughey makes a comeback to voice Buster Moon, while Tori Kelly lends her voice to Meena, Nick Kroll voices Gunter, Scarlett Johansson portrays Ash, Taron Egerton plays Johnny, and Garth Jennings takes on the character of Miss Crawly.
Following an extraordinary performance of Thriller at the New Moon Theatre by Buster Moon and the SING cast, they head to Clay Calloway’s Halloween party for celebration. Upon their arrival, however, they find that a peculiar, multi-hued goo has inexplicably turned Clay and his guests into dancing oddities.
