Simbu on being nervous for his initial days at Thug Life sets: ‘Kamal sir made me feel…’

The movie titled “Thug Life,” featuring Kamal Haasan and Silambarasan TR in prominent roles, is set to premiere in cinemas on June 5, 2025. Before its debut, Simbu has been spotted with the rest of the crew, expressing his early days on set were filled with apprehension.

The actor shared that it was Kamal Haasan who assisted him in feeling at ease during filming. In his own words, “I’ve collaborated with Mani Ratnam previously, but this is my debut working with Kamal sir. I owe a debt of gratitude to Mani sir for arranging this opportunity, and more than acting alongside Kamal sir, observing them both work made me determined to perform well and focus on my acting.

Initially, I felt a bit anxious, but Kamal sir and Mani sir both made me feel at ease. In fact, they continue to make me feel comfortable. Simbu shared this thought.

Expanding on the movie’s specifics, Silambarasan TR shared his belief that the song “Jinguchaa” would resonate strongly with the viewers. He also expressed his delight in performing alongside Kamal Haasan, given the latter’s renowned dancing skills, which are widely admired.

Discussing the upcoming film titled “Thug Life,” it is an action-packed gangster movie helmed by director Mani Ratnam, in collaboration with Kamal Haasan on the scriptwriting. The narrative revolves around a powerful gangster named Rangaraaya Sakthivel, who takes in a young boy named Amaran, weaving a story of their intertwined lives.

As a lifestyle expert, I find myself reflecting on a tragic tale that unfolds like a gripping novel. Once upon a time, Sakthivel, a man who had spent years nurturing his role as both father and son, finds himself presumed dead under mysterious circumstances. His foster son, unfortunately, is suspected of being the mastermind behind this conspiracy.

In the heat of revenge, Sakthivel’s spirit burns with an unquenchable fire. He seeks to right the wrongs that have been done and restore balance in a world tainted by deception and treachery. This leads him down a dark path, where the stakes are life or death, and every move he makes could be his last in a game of survival.

The film boasts a stellar cast, featuring Kamal Haasan and STR as the main characters. Joining them are notable actors such as Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Ashok Selvan, Sanya Malhotra, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, and others in significant roles.

In terms of his professional endeavors, Silambarasan TR is preparing to commence work on a new project, provisionally named STR59. Actress Kayadu Lohar and comedian Santhanam will be co-starring alongside him in this movie. Additionally, the actor has plans to collaborate with director Ashwath Marimuthu on a fantastical film, where he will portray a character known as the “God of Love”.
