In simpler terms, Konami has shared comprehensive details about the next installment in the Silent Hill series called Silent Hill f. During a recent showcase, they unveiled that Silent Hill f will shift the setting to Japan, where a young woman will encounter terrifying experiences and peril as a mysterious fog envelops her hometown, summoning hideous creatures.
This week, a comprehensive trailer for Silent Hill 5 was unveiled during a Silent Hill Transmission event. The game is being crafted by NeoBards Entertainment, based in Taiwan, and will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC when it’s complete. In this title, the narrative centers around female protagonist Shimizu Hinako, whose small town of Ebisugaoka is enveloped by a familiar fog to series enthusiasts. As time passes, what was once comforting transforms into a nightmarish landscape where Hinako must confront horrifying creatures and intricate riddles to progress.
After the successful collaboration on the remake of Silent Hill 2 with Bloober Team, Konami seems eager to capitalize on this momentum. The game was met with critical acclaim from outlets like Shacknews back in October 2024, and has since sold millions of copies. Given its success, it’s no surprise that Konami wants to keep the buzz going. Silent Hill f appears to be a unique twist for the franchise, as it seems to depart from the usual rural US Northeast setting. Hinako’s adventure through a ghostly Ebisugaoka promises to retain the eerie atmosphere of Silent Hill in a drastically different location.
At the moment, there’s no announced release date for Silent Hill f, so keep an eye out for future announcements. Make sure to follow the Silent Hill series closely for any new developments.
