Silent Hill F players don’t need to be Silent Hill fans as it’s completely “independent”, says Konami

Following the remarkable Silent Hill 2 Remake, enthusiasts of Konami’s horror series eagerly anticipate a fresh installment in the series. This upcoming title is none other than Silent Hill F.

Developed by NeoBards Entertainment and penned by Ryukishi07, the forthcoming horror game deviates from its usual small-town American setting, instead taking place in Ebisugaoka, Japan during the 1960s.

Silent Hill F is for fans and newcomers alike

Through a tweet, Konami clarified that fans of the Silent Hill series aren’t necessarily required to appreciate the upcoming game. This new title, similar to Silent Hill 2, offers a self-contained narrative. Players who are new to the horror genre can consider this an ideal starting point within the Silent Hill franchise.

On social media, Konami Japan shared that this upcoming game stands alone and is not tied to the “SILENT HILL” series. It’s designed in a way that even people who haven’t played the series before can still enjoy it.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excitedly counting down to the next installment in this chilling series. This time around, the horror takes on a more personal and poignant turn, delving deep into themes that strike close to home: the harsh realities of gender bias, the heart-wrenching consequences of child maltreatment, the brutal impact of bullying, the mind-bending effects of drug-fueled hallucinations, the harrowing depictions of torture, and the raw brutality of graphic violence. It promises to be a harrowing journey that will leave me on the edge of my seat!

In the spirit of the ’60s Japanese era, I’ve come to appreciate that this game reflects the traditions and lifestyle of that period as portrayed within it.

At the moment, unfortunately, there’s been no announcement about when Silent Hill F will be released. Unlike its predecessor, it doesn’t appear that we have even a window of time for when it might come out, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC all at once.

Given the delay in the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater by Konami, which was originally planned for last year, it’s best we allow them a bit more time to prepare and ensure the game is as good as it can be.

Following a disappointing couple of decades for the Silent Hill horror franchise, marked by the termination of Hideo Kojima’s reboot, there has been a resurgence in interest. The remake by Bloober Team of the second game not only served as an impressive comeback but also became the highest-selling entry in the series to date.
