As a lifestyle expert with a deep appreciation for the world of cinema, I am thrilled to see the ongoing developments surrounding Mani Ratnam’s upcoming gangster film, Thug Life. With Kamal Haasan reprising his iconic role and STR joining forces, this collaboration promises to deliver an unforgettable cinematic experience.

The highly anticipated movie “Thug Life,” starring Kamal Haasan in the lead role, is set to hit theaters in 2024. This gritty gangster film represents the long-awaited reunion of Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan, who last worked together on the classic “Naayakan” 36 years ago. Now, supporting actor Silambarasan TR is recording his lines for “Thug Life.”

STR begins dubbing for Thug Life

STR, also known as Silambarasan, posted a studio photo on Instagram. In the picture, STR is at work during a dubbing session. He wears headphones, suggesting he’s recording or listening to his lines. The screen shows “Thug Life” as the project title. The hashtags #THUGLIFE and #DUBBING confirm that STR contributes to Thug Life’s audio production.

STR’s first look from Thug Life

When pictures of STR taken during the filming of “Thug Life” in Delhi surfaced, the producers countered this by unveiling an authentic poster and preview, providing a glimpse into the actor’s appearance in the movie.

In simpler terms, Kamal Haasan’s production house, Raaj Kamal Films, introduced STR (Silambarasan TR) as a new tough guy in their film “In the Realms of Dust.” Mani Ratnam’s production company, Madras Talkies, made the same announcement on social media, welcoming STR and introducing him as the new tough guy who emerges from the ashes of anger. The short teaser shows STR driving an SUV, raising dust, and then brandishing a gun, which is also depicted in the film’s poster.

More about Thug Life

For those unfamiliar, Dulquer Salmaan originally joined the film cast. But unfortunately had to leave, allowing STR to step in and become a part of this grand production instead.

Last year, it was revealed that Udhayanidhi’s Red Giant Movies, Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International, and Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies have joined forces on a new project.

Alongside STR and Kamal Haasan, the movie features a brilliant ensemble with Trisha and Abhirami taking on significant parts.

Ravi K. Chandran serves as the cinematographer, A.R. Rahman is in charge of music, Sreekar Prasad edits the film, and Anbariv handles the action sequences for Thug Life’s production team.
