SiGMA Central Europe Preview: All iGaming Eyes on Rome

The leading iGaming trade show, SiGMA Central Europe, is launching a new chapter next week in Rome, taking place from November 3rd to 6th, 2025.

This event marks a significant expansion for the brand, as it’s the first time the casino and sports betting expo has been held outside of Malta since its launch in 2014. The original event drew an audience of 1,000 people.

After twelve years, the event has moved to Italy and will be held in a much larger space. Organizers expect over 30,000 attendees, and the program will combine a large-scale exhibition with keynote speeches focused on policy discussions.

The event kicks off with a strong emphasis on current industry developments. The opening session will include speeches from European Parliament President Roberta Metsola and Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani.

This week will see a focus on how new rules, getting products into different markets, and keeping consumers safe work alongside the latest product announcements. For those watching the connection between products and policy, it clearly shows what direction things are heading.

Malta Week’s expo features all the usual industry players – platforms, service providers, and payment companies – but this year’s event is larger and more prominent than ever before.

As a long-time fan, I’m always blown away by how massive this event is! They’ve got over 1,200 companies sponsoring and exhibiting, plus four different stages for talks and presentations. And the exhibition space itself? It’s huge – a whopping 100,000 square meters! It really feels like everything is happening under one roof.

Considering the success of last year’s SiGMA Europe in 2024 – which drew 27,000 attendees and featured a larger exhibition space – Rome is expected to be even more popular this year, with many new exhibitors and increased activity around well-known companies.

With the Italian online gambling market expanding and showing great promise, we expect to see many new attendees from Italy at this year’s Sigma event.

Who’s Who and What’s What

Announcements in the run-up point to names across payments, platforms and content.

CoinsPaid is hosting discussions about cryptocurrency payment solutions for businesses, while EGT is showcasing its newest slot games. Previous award winners like SOFTSWISS, named “Best Platform Provider” at SiGMA Europe 2024, often use this event to demonstrate their latest software to partners.

This means attendees and industry watchers can expect to see firsthand how new ID verification systems are quicker and simpler, how AI is improving compliance processes, and how live casino and instant game platforms are being enhanced.

In addition to the exhibition floor, the conference will feature discussions on key industry trends from recent events. These sessions will focus on the expansion of esports betting, payment solutions, and emerging opportunities in Central and Southern Europe.

Based on the helpful discussions Malta hosted in 2024 about Brazil and esports, Rome should plan similar events offering valuable information. These would be especially beneficial for players interested in learning about potential updates from online casinos in the first half of 2026.

If you enjoy online casinos, events like SiGMA give a sneak peek at what’s coming next. Expect to see things like quicker cash-outs thanks to improved technology, better tools to help players gamble responsibly, fun seasonal events and promotions, and easier-to-understand bonus offers. Casino companies have been planning these improvements for months, and the big presence at the Rome event suggests they’re becoming common features.

What’s Next?

Rome represents a fresh start for the company, reflected in its larger event space, impressive speakers, and increased number of exhibitors. Following the positive changes seen at the Malta 2024 event, Central Europe 2025 will determine if expanding the scale can lead to improvements that casino players will actually experience. Keep an eye on the agreements made in Rome, as they’ll likely determine which new features debut at online casinos in 2026.
