Pop star Sia is said to have filed for divorce from her husband Dan Bernad, bringing an end to their secretive marriage. Although the pair managed to keep their relationship under wraps, the divorce announcement has left fans in shock, particularly since it was unanticipated that they had a child together.

PEOPLE reports that Sia has formally ended her marriage with Dan Bernad, which lasted two years. Court records indicate that the Australian artist-composer listed irreconcilable differences as the cause for the separation. Additionally, it was discovered that Sia secretly had another child named Somersault Wonder Bernad, who was born on March 27, 2024.

In the process of finalizing their divorce, Sia aims for sole legal and physical custody of their child, while allowing Bernad visitation privileges. Moreover, she’s petitioning the court to deny any form of alimony or spousal support for her former partner.

The couple’s relationship has mostly been kept private from the public. They officially tied the knot in December 2022, and then had a small, intimate wedding in Portofino, Italy in May 2023, with only six people attending. Before her marriage to Bernad, Sia was previously married to filmmaker Erik Anders Lang.

Though the specifics of her romantic ties are seldom disclosed, Sia’s private life has occasionally grabbed attention. Notably in 2019, she welcomed two teenage boys into her family through adoption from the foster care system.

In a 2020 conversation with InStyle, she expressed her gratitude for having them by her side, and in the last year, she’s recognized that Che is also meant to be her son. Fans were taken aback as they weren’t aware of her pregnancy or the birth of her newborn.

As of now, neither Sia nor Bernad has publicly addressed the divorce.
