Shyamalan’s New Movie Title Revealed

Renowned filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan (known for The Sixth Sense and Unbreakable) is set to join forces with celebrated author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, A Walk to Remember) in creating a new supernatural thriller novel. Shyamalan has plans to bring this book to life on the big screen. The novel will be published by Random House on October 7, 2025.

Working with M. Night Shyamalan is undoubtedly one of the most rewarding experiences of my professional journey, as I shared in a statement. Now, we’re thrilled to move forward and unveil the next step: the captivating book cover, skillfully crafted by my trusted designer Flamur Tonuzi.

What is the new title for the new M. Night Shyamalan movie?

The latest novel by Nicholas Sparks and the new film from M. Night Shyamalan will be known as “Remain”. A sneak peek at the book cover can now be seen below, but so far, there’s no announced release date for the movie adaptation.

In a forthcoming film that blends romance and the supernatural, M. Night Shyamalan takes on the director’s chair. It looks like Jake Gyllenhaal, who won a BAFTA for “Brokeback Mountain,” and Phoebe Dynevor, famed for her roles in “Bridgerton” and “Fair Play,” will star as the film’s leads. Earlier, Alicia Vikander, an Oscar winner, was connected to this role before Dynevor’s casting. The production team for this project includes Shyamalan, Marc Bienstock, Ashwin Rajan, with Theresa Park and Sparks acting as executive producers.

The story unfolds around Tate Donovan, a New York architect, who journeys to Cape Cod to construct his friend’s vacation home. After being released from a mental health facility due to severe depression, Donovan is seeking a new beginning. Haunted by the death of his sister, he encounters Wren, a young and thought-provoking woman, who encourages him to reconsider his established, logical lifestyle.
