The revival of the series Dexter: Original Sin on Paramount+ has been confirmed for a second season, with Showtime. Soon, a team of writers will gather in preparation for Season 2, and we’ll learn the production start dates shortly.
Under the direction of showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, the new series titled “Dexter: Original Sin” serves as the initial prequel within the growing franchise focusing on serial killer Dexter Morgan. Michael C. Hall, who played the lead character in the original series, takes on the role of narrator for this spin-off. Patrick Gibson assumes the part of Dexter during his teenage years, a time when he was being groomed as a baby slayer, fifteen years prior to the events depicted in the original “Dexter” series.
The 10-episode original drama series is based in Miami of 1991 and revolves around Dexter (Gibson), a student who honed his deadly abilities with the guidance and encouragement of his adoptive father Harry (Christian Slater). In this father figure, he finds comfort and comprehension, particularly as his bloodlust becomes increasingly intense and can no longer be denied.
