As a seasoned Stalker of the Zone, I’ve learned to tread carefully and make calculated decisions that not only ensure my survival but also reap rewards. The Ninth is a character shrouded in mystery, with a reputation that precedes him. Despite his affiliation with the Monolithians, it’s clear he has a heart and is willing to help those in need.
As I embark on the Lost Boys quest, I’ll be on a mission to uncover the destiny of some unlucky Stalkers while simultaneously searching for a survivor named Mastiff, hoping to rescue him. The trail seems to suggest a shadowy figure as the possible culprit behind their assault and murder, but let’s not leap to any hasty conclusions yet.
Should you side with The Ninth? – Stalker 2
In Zalissya, you can acquire The Lost Boys mission by conversing with Lens, the local technician. He tasks you with finding some of his missing companions. After extensive exploration, you will encounter a man known as The Ninth. The Ninth belongs to the Monolithians, a group generally shunned by most inhabitants in the Zone.
Although it was believed that he was the one responsible for attacking and murdering the missing individuals, in reality, he had been safeguarding them from a mutant. He successfully escorted Mastiff to safety and maintained his life. While conversing with him, other Stalkers arrived, prompting you to express your desire to assist and step outside to engage with them.
When conversing with the new arrivals, they’re quite irrational and tend to aggressively lash out at you. Retreat into the house and neutralize them cautiously, ensuring not to inadvertently harm The Ninth, for he has a tendency to dash past and absorb some bullets instead.
Choosing to help The Ninth is advantageous because he’ll give you the Rubber Layer blueprint, a valuable upgrade essential for your technicians in the game later on. On the other hand, eliminating The Ninth will earn you just 1000 Coupons, which isn’t worth much compared to the upgrade. Allying with The Ninth may confuse Lens, but it won’t affect the overall plot.
